This Privacy Policy applies to Shorttermloans.com owned and operated by Short Term Loans, L.L.C. ("Short Term Loans" "We" or "Us"). It informs you of the information we collect and how we use and share that information. If you disagree with the way we collect and use the information you submit on our website, please do not use this website. Your use of this website and submission of personal information on this website constitutes an acceptance of this policy. We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. The effective date of any changes will be posted in the upper right hand corner of this Policy and such changes will be effective from the effective date forward.

For Illinois residents who obtain a loan from us, your privacy rights shall be governed by the loan agreements and applicable Federal and State law governing the same.

Information We Collect.

Personally Identifiable Information. Personally Identifiable Information is information which that may be used to identify a particular individual. We collect your personally identifiable information when you provide it to us through your registration on our website. Our lenders will collect such information when you complete one or more stages of an application form to apply for a loan from a lender participating in our lender network ("Participating Lenders"). We may also collect it when you send us communications via email or call us with a question. The types of personally identifiable information we collect include: name, physical address, telephone number or mobile number, social security number, email address, date of birth, driver's license number, home ownership, employment information, salary, military status and frequency of pay checks.

Collection of 3rd Party Personally Identifiable Information. You may also provide personal information about other people, such as their name and phone number. This information is only used for the sole purpose of completing your request or for whatever reason it may have been provided.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information. Non-Personally Identifiable Information is information that may or may not be unique to you in the sense that it refers to selected population characteristics. This type of information includes the areas of our website that you visit, what services you access, and information about your computer hardware and software, including your IP address, geographic location, browser preference, operating system type, domain names, times that you access the internet, and other websites you have visited.

No Information Collected from Children. We will never knowingly collect any Personal Information from children under the age of 13. If we obtain actual knowledge that we have collected Personal Information about a child under the age of 13, that information will be immediately deleted from its database. Because we do not collect such information, we have no such information to use or to disclose to third parties.

We also review your personally identifiable information to verify your identify, verify or review your application information to determine whether it meets eligibility requirements for participating lenders; provide you with customer support through email, postal mail, telephone, and/or mobile devices about products or services that may be of interest to you either from us, our marketing partners, or other third parties. We use non-personal identifiable information from you to display advertising tailored to your interests or background; perform data and statistical analysis on use of our website; and enforce our terms of use.

Collection and Use of Bank Account Information

If we extend credit to a consumer, we will consider the bank account information provided by the consumer as eligible for us to process payments against. In addition, as part of our information collection process, we may detect additional bank accounts under the ownership of the consumer. We will consider these additional accounts to be part of the application process.

Disclosure of Information to Others.

We will share your personal information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We share your personally-identifiable information, including all information on your registration, with participating lenders in our network and other third party lenders or networks with whom we have a business relationship. In addition, we share your personally identifiable information with unaffiliated third party marketers and list managers with whom we have a business relationship. We also share your personally identifiable information with vendors who assist us in verifying your identity.

Any third parties with whom we share personally-identifiable information may have their own policies which describe how they use and disclose your information. Those policies will govern the use, handling, and disclosure of your information once we have transferred or shared it with those third parties as described in this Policy or our Terms of Use.

We will disclose your personally-identifiable information in response to a subpoena or similar investigative demand, a court order, or a request for cooperation from a law enforcement agency or other government agency or as otherwise required by law. Third Party Collection and Use of Information.

There are links on our website that automatically redirect you to third party websites that we do not operate or control and are not covered under this Privacy Policy. You should review the privacy policies and terms of use of all third party web sites you access. These third party web sites may independently solicit and collect information from you. Also, once we have referred you to a participating lender, which lender has its own privacy policy which may be very different from our policy and you should review that policy immediately upon such referral to know how the lender will collect, use and share your information.

Security of Information.

We endeavor to safeguard and protect your information. When you submit information on our website, such information is protected both online and offline. We have security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of personal information under our control. The servers in which we store your information are kept in a secure physical environment. The servers have industry standard firewalls. Access to such servers is password protected and access by our employees is limited. Currently, we use Secure Socket Layer software ("SSL") to protect data and to secure any transactions. SSL encrypts information including credit card number(s), social security number, bank account information, and names and addresses, as they are transmitted over the Internet. Please be advised that, although we take commercially reasonable technological precautions to protect your data, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure; therefore, we cannot and do not warrant that your information will be absolutely secure.
