Tips for Trips on a Budget

Published on June 14th, 2017

We all need a vacation from time to time. Even if you can’t afford a trip to Europe, that doesn’t mean you can’t have a wonderful vacation! In addition to fast cash loans from Short Term Loans, there are lots of creative and savvy ways to maintain funds and fun on a vacation.

Airfares

  • Always plan to buy your tickets in advance!
  • Look for connecting flights. Although connecting flights can be a hassle, they are cheaper. The flights will still take you from point A to point B, so they aren’t too bad!
  • Look for deals on discount travel sites like Travelocity, Booking.com, Kayak, and more.

Eating

  • Eat more at lunch than at dinner. Dinners are always more expensive, and if you eat a bigger meal earlier in the day it is also healthier!
  • If you have the resources, cook for yourself. It’s no secret cooking from home is cheaper, but doing it on vacation is often overlooked. However, since the cookware, dining area, or supermarkets are new, it can be a fun experience!
  • Try to find a hotel or stay that includes breakfast, then get the most bang for your buck!

Accommodations

  • If the town or city you are visiting has expensive booking accommodations, book a room in a town nearby. However, this will increase your transportation costs, so be careful and budget for what would be the best option!
  • Airbnb is often much cheaper nowadays, especially if you’re traveling with a group. Make an account and see if there are any available homes nearby with decent prices.
  • Another easy way for a cheap vacation is to rent out a friend or family member’s vacation home for a weekend. Always offer to pay something to show your gratitude, of course, but hopefully you could get a friends & family discount!

Although we try to stick to our budgets, sometimes we can’t plan for everything and need a fast cash loan. If you need financial help, feel free to contact Short Term Loans to get cash now.
